Ms. Kim joined the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra in August 2002 the same year she graduated from Indiana University, USA. Prior to the philharmonic, she performed with the Evansville Philharmonic Orchestra and Owensboro Symphony Orchestra, USA.

Ms. Kim, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, native, began music studies on the piano at age six but so desired the violin, she switched to it later exclusively. She was then offered a scholarship based on merit upon admittance to study at the specialist music school at Wells Cathedral School, UK.

Ms. Kim received her Bachelor of Music Performance degree from the School of Music, Indiana University, USA under the tutelage of Henryk Kowalski, Nelli Shkolnikova and Ilya Kaler and her chamber music mentor was Ik Hwan Bae and Shigeo Neriki. 

While earning her music studies in UK, she appeared as concertmaster of the Wells Cathedral Symphony Orchestra, String Chamber Orchestra and leader of string quartet at famous concert halls in United Kingdom. During the summer, she has performed at festivals around the world, such as Leipzig International Summer Academy(Germany), Summer Music Festival at Indiana University(USA), Cambridge Symposium for String Quartet(UK) and ASEAN music workshop for orchestra (Thailand). 

After performing with the Malaysian Philharmonic Orchestra and working with the education outreach department for more than a decade, Ms. Kim has decided to contribute as a music educator as she found it rewarding by sharing her knowledge and experience in music through her teaching.
